About Us

Opening Doors Northwest Florida is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness across Northwest Florida through leadership, collaboration, and systems innovation.

We work at the intersection of housing, public policy, and community partnership to ensure that individuals and families experiencing homelessness have access to safe shelter, stable housing, and the supportive services they need to thrive.

Our Mission

To strengthen the homeless response system in Northwest Florida by coordinating resources, building partnerships, and implementing effective housing solutions that move people from crisis to stability.

What We Do

Community Leadership & Coordination

Opening Doors provides strategic leadership within the local homeless response system, working alongside Continuum of Care (CoC) partners, service providers, local governments, and state agencies to improve outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Fiscal Agent & Grant Management

We serve as a trusted fiscal agent for nonprofit partners and collaborative projects, ensuring compliance with HUD, Florida DCF, and Continuum of Care regulations while maximizing funding impact and accountability.

Shelter & Housing Development

Opening Doors supports the development of innovative housing solutions, including non-congregate shelter models and pallet shelter communities. Our focus is on rapid implementation, regulatory compliance, and sustainable operations.

Systems Improvement & Performance

We are committed to data-driven decision making, improving system performance measures, strengthening HMIS practices, and ensuring that community investments lead to measurable reductions in homelessness.
